round notes
All the Clarks have a point each - so they'll get an official rating (in June unfortunately , not by March (when Australian ratings are published) as they need at 9 rated games (the lightning, simul or allegro games are not rated) but I of course will calculate a local rating till then. Ben too is on his way to a rating.

About ratings - for example we have had in the past players who have racked up 20 or so games without success (a non-rated person who racks up no success in a rating-period gets their rating-history wiped so they start off with a clean slate - in the afore-mentioned example when she finally scored a half-point {a triple-repetition draw} her rating history was half a point from seven games instead of half from 27 games -
don't rely on that number 20 since I didn't keep count, just roughly.

Ratings are published by the Australian Chess Federation 4 times a year

the end of Mike Vs Ben was very exciting - so exciting I risked missing my last train and bus of the night (thank you to John who got me to the station with about a minute and a half to spare).

forgive me if I have the position wrong fellows
the position is highly inaccurate but gives a flavour ...
Round_2_Mike-Ben (16K)
Mike had 48 mins left
Ben had 43 seconds
position was scattered, but blocked, 3 pawns plus a knight each
Mike had a passed rook pawn - knight could block it but ...
Ben had 2 centre connected against single e-pawn
Ben won a centre pawn but lost a winger
asked for draw but not yet
several moves made - Mike took 30 secs-1min or so, trying hard to win "on the board" and not "on the clock"
Ben used about a sec a move
anyways in the end Ben could take the last of Mikes pawns and draw agreed - Ben had 26 secs left

at present the scores are :
  1 Kronental, Bruno 1613 2
  2 McLoon, Michael K 1561 1.5
3-10 Clark, Peter 1300 1
      Farrell, Keith R 1416 1
      Clark, Neil 1300 1
      Clark, Andrew 1300 1
      Young, Jeffrey 1706 1
      Brown, Phil 1556 1
      Pascoe, John L 1447 1
      Losh, Gary 1462 1
 11 , Ben 0.5
12-15 Bassett, Duncan 1307 0
      Skulimowski, Don 1361 0
      Hoseman, Bill 1013 0
      Russell, Michael 0

of course Either Jeff or Phil may be a point or half better than above - depending upon their result

and so we have 3 different sets of pairings - depending upon that result : (if not finished by the next round we'll assume a draw (for the purposes of which pairing set to use - their actual result will of course be filled in at that time.
note also that the number between the brackets, eg [2], is the number of points won

if Jeff wins :

 1 Bruno Kronental [2] : Jeffrey Young [2]
 2 Phil Brown [1] : Michael K McLoon [1.5]
 3 Peter Clark [1] : Neil Clark [1]
 4 John L Pascoe [1] : Andrew Clark [1]
 5 Keith R Farrell [1] : Gary Losh [1]
 6 Ben [.5] : Don Skulimowski [0]
 7 Bill Hoseman [0] : Duncan Bassett [0]

if they draw :
it does indeed that this and the above pairing simply swap coulous on board one

 1 Jeffrey Young [1.5] : Bruno Kronental [2]
 2 Phil Brown [1.5] : Michael K McLoon [1.5]
 3 Peter Clark [1] : Neil Clark [1]
 4 John L Pascoe [1] : Andrew Clark [1]
 5 Keith R Farrell [1] : Gary Losh [1]
 6 Ben [.5] : Don Skulimowski [0]
 7 Bill Hoseman [0] : Duncan Bassett [0]

if Phil wins :

 1 Phil Brown [2] : Bruno Kronental [2]
 2 Peter Clark [1] : Michael K McLoon [1.5]
 3 Neil Clark [1] : Jeffrey Young [1]
 4 John L Pascoe [1] : Andrew Clark [1]
 5 Keith R Farrell [1] : Gary Losh [1]
 6 Ben [.5] : Don Skulimowski [0]
 7 Bill Hoseman [0] : Duncan Bassett [0]
